For the first intersection of food type and AR, I took myself to the florist. I love innovating at the bleeding edge of tech but didn’t want to cut anyone out. As I fashioned flowers into an early 19th century gothic script, I saw the 3D shapes I’ve always loved come to life layer by layer.

“If viewers see shapes, colors, and textures they recognize, they will see themselves in a digital future,” I thought.

There are so many variables— light, shadow, legibility, angles — it sounds like the odds of getting it right are not in our favor. But that’s not true. The setting matters immensely, as does the scale. More than ever, everything comes together seamlessly.
