Portrait of a Man

A man in multipe dimensions

A traditional portrait infused with modern technology, the first of its kind. This video is both an augmented reality case study and a portrait of a medical professional managing bipolar.

Portraits go hand-in-hand with technological advancement; paint, clay, bronze and pixels find a new purpose in human form. They speak to the modern human condition and survive us for centuries. They offer a sliver of the subject for us to savor. What happens when we offer a viewer multiple dimensions?

A job does not define a person any more than a diagnosis. The totality of human condition is meant to be embraced, the manic highs and depressive lows, especially by a doctor. A good portrait conveys the dignity and tension found within this struggle.

Special thanks to Ashley Steward, 934 Gallery, Sudtipos for the typeface, White Wall, The Archive Gallery, and of course Kevin Driver. You're a winner.
